Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment today and another sonogram. Everything is going fine. She's measuring small, but growing at the right rate, she now weighs 1lb, 8oz. Here are finally some pictures of her face. Still not great, but better than anything we've seen so far.

Big Weekend

We had our Weakly family reunion this past weekend. As usual, it was a really wild, fun time. The water slide was the biggest hit! Here are some fun pictures from the weekend.

Jill and Mackinzy were in town, so we got to see them a couple of days. That's a new record for the most times getting together with Jill in years!

AND, we finally got to meet Alex and Avery and Cade! Here is John deciding that he is extremely grateful we're only having one, not two at one time. But they sure were cute! We can't wait for ours to join the fun!

And then to cap it off the weekend. When we got home today, we found that our goose has hatched her eggs! At least this might be our goose. There were actually three little families swimming around our dock, but this turned out to be the cutest picture so we're claiming them!

Dramatic Conclusion to the Flooring Drama

I woke up today excited because today was the day the floors were finally going to be done. So, the guy gives me a call and says he's on his way and he's heard about all the trouble we've had, so he wants me to know he's going to get it done, no problem. Well, I should have known...He shows up and proceeds to tell us that we should have had the flooring acclimated to 70 degrees, so he can't lay it because it is too cold in our house. Well, I immediately burst into tears and run out of the room. Apparently this works because John is able to convince this man that he should put the flooring down. However, he needs 4 more boxes because he thinks we don't have enough. So off I go to Home Depot to buy more flooring, but the more I think about the situation, the more upset I get, so I decide to ask for 10% off. While waiting for the manager, I start crying again and he feels so bad he gives me 20% off! To cap it off, the installer was wrong, we didn't need the four extra boxes, so I made John return them as I was really humiliated after the scene I made this morning. But the good news is.....the floor is done and it looks great!

Flooring Fiasco

Friday was the big day. They came to put our flooring in before our big move Saturday. Here is a picture before they started.

Here's the floor after they were done. No, that's not a mistake. They didn't install them, much to my dismay. They had a problem with our subfloor, so they wouldn't do it. Even though we offered to sign a release taking full responsibility. Still no!

Here's the floors about 30 minutes after John decided we could install the flooring ourselves. This is also about 15 minutes before I rescheduled new installers. It was much harder than it sounded!

We still moved though. We have a giant mess of boxes and we can't actually sleep there because the new carpet is fuming up the house, but we're so close we can almost taste it. And we didn't let all the hiccups stop our Easter party. The girls had a big time hunting Easter eggs and we got to enjoy the outdoors. Not that we had a choice of enjoying the indoors! :)

It turns out Skye is the more competitive of the two, she ended up with both baskets.

The Necessities

We have our swing up and going at the new house. We've had three customers so far, Ryan's girls and Sloane when the Kennedys stopped by. They all seemed to approve so we're in business! Our doctor's appointment yesterday went well. We had our 20 week sonogram and they have confirmed that it is a girl, so now we really believe them! And everything else they were checking was fine, they said, so we're happy! The house is almost finished, our last step is to get the carpet in and then we have to move, which will be a huge task, but then we can relax!
